Top Gambling Games these Days
It Turns out that the guy who won the real, physical Las Vegas tournament was a well-known poker fixture in the online world. The reason that he won the top gambling honors in the real, physical world is that he won it in the virtual world against over five hundred thousand players over a period of a few months. The person who won that game did so in a crucible that could be compared to a Presidential campaign, complete with whistle stops all over the place, shaking the virtual hands of thousands of campaigners, and beating out the best and the brightest through a mixture of chutzpah and talent that had never been seen before in the online world.
No wonder that when that person (let’s call him “Bill" in order to preserve his anonymity? After all, his real name or personal background don’t matter) entered the Binion’s Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas, he was both an unknown and a very well known and tested commodity from the electronic poker world. He didn’t have to worry about wearing big sunglasses or his facial expressions, as he had been able to bluff against the best of the online gamers—none of whom could see the expressions of the other players when they were involved in a game.
So what about poker makes it amongst the top gambling games? It has all the elements of excitement that one would want—suspense, ability, luck, bluffing, romance. Well, forget the romance. That was just additional (although I’m sure that Bill got plenty of offers from interested women after he won the online tournament, then went on to win the championship in the bricks and mortar world). No, what truly makes it a top gambling game is its ability to take hundreds of thousands of players and put them on a level playing field, with no one having inordinate advantages other than their own ability to judge the odds on the fly, and to include an evaluation of the personalities of the players at the same time.
So, what of our Binion guy? He’s a winner—online and offline!
